![]() Camberley man, Max White, principal of White & Company PROJECT MANAGEMENT, is the first person to receive approval from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), to convert to the new designation of chartered project management surveyor. This follows the establishment of a faculty by the institution specifically to cover this specialist area of professional property services. Having trained as a building surveyor, qualified as a chartered surveyor and gained a diploma in project management, Max increasingly specialised in project management. This new recognition endorses Max's skills over two disciplines and his 25 years experience in the important field of project management. "Large building projects are very complex and the specialist services of a project manager ensure that the whole development team works together to provide the client with a cost effective project," says Max. "That the RICS has now established a faculty dedicated to this discipline shows how important this role is to the successful completion of complex projects. "With experience in the industrial, commercial and retail sectors, Max has been responsible for many projects undertaken for Smiths Group, Hogg Robinson, Lancaster and other major corporate clients. Some projects have comprised ground-breaking innovation and typically such projects can cost up to £20m and run for up to three years. "Clients need to be free to concentrate on their prime responsibilities, confident in leaving major refurbishment and construction works in our hands, knowing that we act in their best interests," adds Max. "We remain fully accountable to our clients for taking a project from inception to completion." The RICS represents over 110,000 chartered surveyors and is the principle property and construction institution worldwide. The reorganisation has seen 16 new faculties evolve, including the new project management faculty. |
